The Country
Gentlemen 50th Anniversary Celebration: A Once in a Lifetime Event for Bluegrass
Music Fans
Randy Waller will host a 50th Anniversary Celebration of his legendary bluegrass
band, The Country Gentlemen, at Watermelon Park in Berryville, Virginia during
the weekend of July 13th and 14th, 2007. An all-star cast of former members and
guests will unite for this once-in-a-lifetime concert event to tell the unique
story of the Country Gentlemen, from past to present.
The
Country Gentlemen formed in 1957, and became the leading Bluegrass band in the
DC area, eventually influencing bluegrass music nationwide. Throughout the Gents'
rich history the band has gone through many incarnations, employing over one hundred
members through the years, including greats such as John Duffy, Bill Emerson,
Ricky Skaggs, and Jerry Douglas. Randy Waller, son of founding member Charlie
Waller, now leads the current award-winning incarnation, Randy Waller and the
Country Gentlemen.
Performers
at this historic event will include Randy Waller and the Country Gentlemen, Bill
Emerson, Tom Gray, Jimmy Gaudreau, Bill Yates, Pete Kuykendall, Eddie and Martha
Adcock, Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver, Norman Wright, Ronnie Davis, Tom Morgan,
Jimmy Bowen, Kevin Church, Dick Smith, Greg Corbet, Jim Cox, Kenny Haddock, Tim
Finch, Darrin Auldridge, Billy Gee, Rick Allred, Kent Dowell, the US Navy band
Country Current, Mike Auldridge, and many more. Legendary Nashville Disc Jockey
Hall of Famer, Tom Cat Reeder, will emcee the event.

Prices: Friday Only is $20 Adv/$25 Gate, Saturday Only is $25 Adv/$30 Gate, Weekend
is $40 Adv/$45 Gate. Camping available at $10 per person/per night.
